The Perceptions of Early Childhood Educators Regarding the Uses of the Interactive Whiteboard

Nowadays, there is an increase in the use of the Interactive White Board (IWB) in the classroom. This allows the instructor to integrate new and more attractive learning methodologies towards the learning process. In early childhood education the instructor relies too much on images, making the IWB a great teaching resource. However, are teachers prepared to use and implement the IWB? Do they consider it a good resource towards this educational stage? From these questions and through an ad-hoc questionnaire, a multiple case study was conducted with early childhood educators (N=30) from different public schools in Córdoba, Spain. Educar a los más pequeños es una labor que, en ciertos momentos, puede resultar ardua, pues el grado de atención de los infantes como todos sabemos, es intermitente. Para ello los docentes deben diseñar propuestas de trabajo que llamen la atención de los estudiantes y que, además, desarrollen no sólo sus habilidades y competencias, sino también su imaginación. La utilización de diferentes recursos tecnológicos en el aula de primaria, va a permitir el desarrollo de la competencia digital que el Real Decreto 1513 establece deben alcanzar los estudiantes de Primaria una vez que finalicen la etapa. De todos los medios de comunicación y/o recursos tecnológicos que los docentes tienen a su alcance, nosotras nos hemos centrado en la televisión, y más concretamente en las series de dibujos animados (cartoons) que en diversas franjas horarias pueden visionarse en los distintos canales televisivos. Tratando de superar las funciones que en su día asignó Feria (1995) a la televisión - teleguardería, teleconsumo y teledivulgación-, traemos a la palestra una propuesta de secuencia didáctica para desarrollar el curriculum de segundo curso de primaria a través de la serie de dibujos animados Bacyardignas. Nuestra propuesta de trabajo la hemos centrado en el capítulo titulado Mudanzas de Arabia. En él, el sultán Tayron contrata a la empresa “Mudanzas de Arabia” regentada por Pablo y Onikua, para que trasladen su tesoro desde la cueva en que lo guarda a su nueva ubicación en Palacio. Values learning througth tales in chilhood education

The learning of values established in today’s society is vital for the growth of the individual in a way that today is a premium in the community in which their live. Their learning is dependent at previous train, which it begins in childhood education level. In the other hand, teaching at this level is supported on the reading of traditional tales, which has a great representation of the values socially accepted today, hence that education in values had a great relevant and needs a study in this School level. By a ex post facto study, used a descriptive an comparative-casual design, be presented the opinion of teachers and pre-service teachers on this academic level in the Cordoba province (N = 411), about if the value of cooperation and/or mutual help can be learned by the children through the tales and used of traditional methodologies. Through the application a questionnaire create ad hoc conformed with 19 tales and 5 values, according to classification made by Marín and Sánchez (2015) and used a scale to scale type Likert to answered, where 1 was totally disagree and 5 totally in disagreement, it preceded the collection of data. The principal results are the younger teachers consider that all the tales offered (19) are valid to learn this value. In consequence we can question, if lack of professional experience can be an element that determines the use of traditional methodologies for the learning of this particular value and all in general.</p

Los valores son hoy un elemento de la formación, siendo pieza clave en la Educación Infantil. Junto a estos encontramos la metodología de los cuentos tradicionales como forma de enseñanza-aprendizaje. En el presente artículo exponemos los primeros resultados de un estudio no experimental, llevado a cabo con el objetivo general de conocer cuáles son los valores que el profesorado cree que transmiten los cuentos infantiles. El principal resultado obtenido es que los cuentos tradicionales transmiten diferentes valores en función de la etapa educativa en que se empleen y de la experiencia profesional de los sujetos docentes. Concluimos que la educación en valores a través de los cuentos tradicionales en la etapa de Educación Infantil, es una metodología válida para la socialización de los niños y las niñasNowadays values are an important element of education and represent a key component of Early Childhood Education. Impact of Problematic Smartphone Use and Instagram Use Intensity on Self-Esteem with University Students from Physical Education

Mobile devices are a revolutionary element that offer many possibilities, although they can also cause problems for users. This is the case with the development of addictive behaviors that can affect personal well-being. The purpose of this paper has been to analyze the influence of smartphone addiction and Instagram use intensity on the self-esteem of Physical Education students. A cross-sectional research design was adopted by applying an online survey to a sample of undergraduate students (n = 385). The results showed that gender and age were factors that influenced the problematic use of the smartphone. In turn, there was a significant positive correlation between smartphone addiction and Instagram use intensity. The influence of smartphone addiction on students’ self-esteem was also highlighted. In contrast, Instagram use intensity did not affect self-esteem. Finally, the findings are discussed, and the main implications of the study are established, where physical education students take on a special role in order to avoid the improper use of smartphones and Instagram through sport.University of Granada (Spain) PPJIB2019-0
